Recap Questions (Chapter 2)
1) What are primary and secondary sources? Ans: Primary: It is a source of information that was created at the time it was occuring. It usually has a clearer view of the events being taken place. Consists of: Written evidence, Pictoral Evidence, Oral Evidence and artefacts
Secondary: Evidence provided by people who have not been through the activity itself before in the past event. Consists of: textbooks, some documentaries, journal essays, cartoons
2) How do historians make sure that their sources are reliable? Ans: By using the 3 C's test; Credibility, Consistency and Corroboration.
Credibility: -Whether the person have exaggerated and the person that provieded this is trustworthy.
Consistency: -Whether the evidence is consistent by considering whether the text is of the some meaning.
Corroboration: -Whether is matches past findings of evidence that was discovered a long time ago (to find info to support it)
3)Why is necessary for historians to revise their intepretaions of past events? Ans: As new evidences are found each day, more new facts are being found each day. Hence, the historians need to make sure that they are staying updated and also revise their intepretations from time to time.ReflectionThis chapter allows us to understand and also classify how the evidences found are sorted according to the 3c's test (credibility, consistency and corroboration) and also making sure that the evidence is not biased, not based on just one's person point of view. but when everyone have voiced out their point of view before coming down to a judgement. The classification of sources will give a clearer view of whether the evidence is trustworthy and can be used by historians to corroborate with other evidences found at different areas and come to a conclusion what is the whole civilisation is about and how it was founded. History -.-
